What is i-Dressup?

i-Dressup is a flash dress up games site and an online community that encourages members to explore their creativity and fashion sense with unique personal profiles. From the moment you join iZone, our online community, there are tons of ways to create, communicate, participate and have fun! For members under 13, parental consent is required to access certain features of iZone.

Is i-Dressup a moderated site?

Yes. While privacy and anonymity are important to us, i-Dressup is equally concerned with members who might try to conduct illegal activities, abuse, harass, or degrade the i-Dressup experience for others. In the event this happens, members are able to report the bad iZones to i-Dressup by a simple click. The reports will be reviewed frequently and corresponding actions will be taken. Any members who do not comply with the Terms of Use from the site will be removed and banned.

How does i-Dressup protect my privacy?

i-Dressup does not collect any personal information beyond your email address.. Email addresses are not displayed on the site and will not be sold or redistributed to outside parties. Users are free to add additional information about themselves on their profile page. This information can be changed or removed at anytime and it's totally optional and at the member's discretion.

Why do I need to sign up?

You need to sign up to save your own avatar, save the clothes to your wardrobe and access your rooms, cast votes, earn iCoins, make friends, comment on others' blogs and use some other features. It costs nothing to join. You can still play the games without an account.

Why do I need a valid email to sign up?

An activation code will be sent to your email address used in the sign-up process. You need to activate your account before using features like adding friends, blogs, messages, guestbook etc. Activating your account will also earn you FREE iCoins, with which you can buy stuff on the site. Thus leaving a valid email is important as that is the only way to activate your account.

What will you do with my email?

The email is for registration and retrieving password purpose only. We will not sell or redistributed your email to any outside party.

I am under 13 years old. Why do you require my parents' email to sign up?

For children's safety, we require parents' consent for members under 13 to use features like blog, friends, messages, guestbook. You need to activate the account twice using codes sent to you and your parents' emails to access the full function of iZone.

Why can't I log in?

First check if you enter the correct username and password. Type them slowly and correctly. Passwords are case sensitive, so make sure that you enter them exactly as you did when you registered. If you still can't get into the site, we recommend trying the Forgot Password button to retrieve your login password. You password will be sent to the email used in registration for this username.

I forgot my password, how do I get it back?

Click Forgot Password in the long-in Box and You password will be sent to the email used in registration for this username.

Can I change my password and username once I sign up?

You can change your password in the Profile/Settings when you log in. You will be asked to input your old password first. But you can NOT change your username.

A note about passwords.

i-Dressup staff will NEVER ask you for your password!

Anyone who says that they need your password for ANY reason is probably up to no good.

Using your real name or birthdates as a password is not generally a good idea - as people who know you personally might try these. Likewise friends' names, pet's names usually make for easy-to-guess passwords. Avoid them whenever possible.

A good password usually includes capital letters, numbers and even special characters.

What is activation code?

An activation code is like a secret one-time password to activate your account. Once you finish the sign-up process, a unique activation code will be sent to your email address. It consists of letters and numbers and will only be used once. Once you activate your account, you need not to input it anymore. It is NOT your password for log-in.

For members under 13 years old, besides your own activation code, you will also need a second activation code that is sent to your parent's email to use features like blog, friends, guestbook and messages.

How do I activate my account?

For members 13 years old or over:

To activate your account, you can either click the activation link sent to your email address used in registration, or if you already log in, copy and paste the activation code in the user account activation page.

For members under 13 years old:
To activate your account, first off do the exact same thing as above. Then you will need to input the second activation code sent to your parent's email in the parent consent page, which will pop out when you click either blog, guestbook, message list or friends page. That means you will have two different activation codes and have to do the activation twice to use the full features.

I've already signed up. Why haven't I received my activation code?

There are a lot of possibilities. First, check whether you provide a valid and correct email address or not. Without that you will not be able to receive the activation code. Second, check the bulk folders in your email since sometimes the welcome email from i-Dressup may be taken as a spam email. And if you are using an AOL email account, you may not receive our email at all. In that case we suggest you use another email for activation.

If you provide an incorrect email in registration, you can change to a correct email in the box of the user account activation page. Click "Send" button below that box and a new activation code will be sent to the new email.

If you are sure you give a correct email and still do not get the activation code, please contact us with a valid email address and provide your username and password. We will send the activation code again or even activate the account for you. This may take some time. Please be patient. Thanks!

How do I earn iCoins?

There are several ways to earn iCoins.

1. Join iZone! When you join iZone and finish the account activation, you will get iCoins immediately for a good start, enough for you to buy a decent outfit and some items for the room.

2. Browse i-Dressup! No matter what page you venture to on i-Dressup, your iCoins will go up as long as you are logged in and browsing i-Dressup.

3. Tell your friends about iZone. Want to talk to your real friends in iZone? Click the Tell a friend button. When the friend signed up to iZone via the link sent to her/him, both you and your friend will be rewarded iCoins.

4. Updating your blog. New blog posting in every 24-hour period will earn you certain amount of iCoins.

5. Get votes from other members by creating a unique and hot iZone. At maximum, you can cast 5 votes, represented by 5 highlighted stars below the rooms, for each member except yourself. The more the votes, the more the iCoins.

How do I keep track of my iCoins and purchased items?

The number of your iCoins is shown in your personal panel. And when you refresh the page, it shows the real-time iCoins that you have. When you buy clothes, furniture or other items, the total price will be deducted from your iCoins. Click on the items button below your avatar and check your purchased items.

What is the difference with iLook and iToon?

You have 2 avatars, iLook and iToon, in iZone. iLook is a more realistic avatar that can be customized to look like you, while iToon is more of a anime look of you.

How can I personalize my own avatar?

Go to iLook or iToon page, where you can create your own avatar by choosing gender, and changing the body types, face shapes, eyes, lashes, hairstyles, eyebrows, lips, and noses. Every components of the face can be moved up and down and they come with different colors, i.e., you can change the skin tone and put different makeup on the look. Both iLook and iToon can be saved and seen by other members.

Which doll will appear in my rooms, iLook or iToon?

It depends on the latest doll you save. If it's iLook, it will be shown in your room and personal panel. If the latest saved doll is iToon, then iToon will be showing in your room. However, you can change the default doll shown in your room to be iLook or iToon in the settings.

How do I switch between iLook and iToon?

Click the "settings" button above and below the room section. It will take you to the profile page. Click the tab "settings" on the right, which is next to "about me" tab and set your default doll as you wish.

Can I change my iLook and iToon after I save them?

You can change your avatars iLook and iToon anytime you want.

If I buy clothes in the Boutique, will they show in my rooms?

Yes, the clothes and accessories you bought will be saved in your wardrobe.

I bought some clothes just now. Why can't I see the them in my wardrobe?

First check if the clothes you just bought are for the default doll or not. For example, if you bought clothes for iToon and your default showing doll is iLook, then you will not see the clothes in the current wardrobe as it's iLook's wardrobe, not iToon's. Only when you set the default doll to be iToon that the clothes you just bought will be shown in iToon's wardrobe.

Check your "items" icon in your personal panel. It's possible that your transaction is not complete and you did not buy the clothes successfully. In that case, you will not be charged with your iCoins.

How do I decorate my room?

You can change the color and wallpaper of your rooms for free, customize the rooms by changing the items and door styles, and get additional furniture and accessories using your iCoins.

I double click the furniture I bought and it disappeared. What happened?

Double clicking the items you bought for the room will put it in "My Case", where your unused furniture is stored. To put it back to the room, simply double click the item in "My Case" and it will be back to the room.

What is "take a picture" in Lounge and My Wardrobe?

It is a tool for you make your personal icon, which is used wherever your username appears in i-Dressup and other members' iZones, like friends list, blog comments, guestbook, etc.. Just position the camera in the desired place, zoom in or out, click the shutter and you are done!

How do I make friends in iZone?

If you come across a member's iZone and would like to add her/him as a friend, simply click on "Add as Friend" button under that member's Lounge and Wardrobe pages. A request will be sent to the member for review. If the member accepts your request, both of your usernames will appear in each other's friends list. And you two can send messages to each other. If the member does not review your request or refuse your request, you may just find another friend.

If you know your real friend's username, simply type it on the search box. When the result appears, click on the name and enter her/his iZone. Add her/him as a friend there and ask her/him to approve the request asap.

How do I send messages to iZone members?

You have to become friends first in order to send messages to a member.

How can I find friends if I am not allowed to send messages to members?

This is a tricky question. But, you can leave comments in members blogs and guestbooks to break the ice. If they think you are nice and sweet, they will respond. You may also write something in your profile to let people know who you are. Besides, a cool iZone will attract lots of attention and members may want to add you as friends.

I don't want to be friends with some members any more, what do I do?

To delete a friend, go to your friends list and click on "remove" button next to the member. Both of your names will be removed from each other's friends list.

If this member keeps sending you request to be friends and you don't want to have anything to do with her/him, click on "blacklist" button next to the username in the waiting list. This user will not be able to contact you again.

How do I block a user?

If this user leaves a rude comment in your blog or write something bad in your guestbook, there should be a "block" button besides the username. Just click on that and your world is back to be pleasant. This user will not be able to leave any words in your iZone.

What is wishlist for friends?

It is basically what you are looking for in a friend. For example, if you feel that people with certain qualities will very likely become your friends, or you are looking for an interesting friend who can speak French, put them on your wishlist. If you don't care at all, you don't have to write anything.

What do votes and visitors bars stand for?

They represent the ranking of your iZone in terms of total votes and total visitors. The more votes and visitors you get, the longer the colored bar shows.

Can I change my password and username once I sign up?

You can change your password in the Profile/Settings when you log in. You will be asked to input your old password first. But you can NOT change your username after you sign up.

How can I edit my personal information//delete account?

Click on the "Profile" button in your personal panel and click "edit profile". Here you can change your personal information as well as password. You can also delete your account by clicking on the "Delete Account" button on the bottom of the page. Remember: once your account is deleted, it can not be recovered.
